There’s No App for THAT! Providing Personal Customer Service and Utilizing Technology

Jerry Norman, Director of Multifamily Marketing with Pedcor Management | Pedcor Homes will discuss how we incorporate technology into Property Management without losing the personal touch. There is no App that will provide personal customer service.
Let’s look at what we do for a living in Multifamily. We provide a basic need of providing housing with sales and ongoing customer service. We can’t effectively do that solely using technology. At one time, the typical renter was a future home buyer, renting until they could afford a home. Our typical target market was defined as 21 to 34 years old. This demographic has certainly changed, and even more since the pandemic.
Our customer today is very different. Owning a home is not necessarily the “American Dream,” and people have realized that owning a home may not be the answer it once was (and homes have recently become cost-prohibitive). Now we have “renters by choice.”
What does this all mean? The “basics” of property management have not changed. It’s still providing housing and GREAT customer service. It’s how we communicate with the various generations we serve that has changed. And while there are a lot of Apps out there, there is still no App that will provide personalized customer service.
